Lowcountry Open Land Trust Helps Ashem Farm Transfer to Park System

We love the Lowcountry, so when the Lowcountry Open Land Trust (LOLT) approached us to help promote the preservation of a beautiful, old plantation in West Ashley, we jumped at the opportunity! Ashem Farm is nestled directly next to Charles Towne Landing on Old Towne Road. The water-front property features oaks, barns and even a former equestrian center. Late owner, Emily Ravenel Farrow, placed a conservation easement on the property to protect the land and building. She bequeathed Ashem Farm to LOLT, which then transferred ownership to the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission (CCPRC) for future generations to enjoy.

The land is currently being assessed by CCPRC to determine how they will use it. Read about the announcement in this Post and Courier article.
